What Film Won The Award For Best Makeup And Hairstyling?
Anne Morgan, Kazu Hiro, Vivian Bakery, 2019 winners
The Academy Accolade for All-time Makeup and Hairstyling is the Oscar given to the best achievement in makeup and hair-styling for film. Usually, simply three films are nominated each yr rather than five every bit in well-nigh categories. The exception is in the early on 1980s, when there were only two nominees; and in 1999, when there were 4 nominees.
The competitive category was created in 1981 as the Academy Award for Best Makeup, afterwards the Academy received complaints that the make-upward work in The Elephant Man (1980) was non going to be honored. No award was given to The Elephant Homo yet, but an entire category defended to honoring make-upward furnishings in film was created for subsequent ceremonies. Previously, make-up artists were merely eligible for special achievement awards for their work.
In 2012, the category was renamed to its electric current name for apply in the 85th Academy Awards and onward, it was previously called All-time Makeup.
